Think about your thoughts

Do you ever think about your thoughts? Have you ever realized that you were arguing with yourself? I'm not talking about a debate on what movie you should go see. I'm talking about putting forth excuses as to why you should do something that you know you shouldn't do. Or trying to convince yourself you should not do something you know you should do. What's up with that?

Paul said it well when he explained "the things I want to do I don't do and the things I don't want to do that I do."

Realizing this is the first step in understanding the " Battle for your Mind".

The enemy is present in your thoughts. When you find yourself arguing with yourself realize you are under attack. The battlefield is your mind.

There are several verses that you need to understand.

Take every thought captive.  We do not wrestle against flesh and blood. Pray without ceasing.

Mary Pondered in her heart.

Good advise. "Pondered". I take that as thought about it a lot.

I bring it up because I realize sometimes, because of "social media" I can share way to soon. I don't think I'm Mary. I just want to learn from her example.

To soon, before I've actually grappled with it on a personal level. Too soon, before I've understood what it means to me personally. Too soon before I can be a reliable example.

Crap, that means always.

God's Grace, Favor, Mercy?

  • Grace is free and unmerited blessings of God.
  • Favor is God’s unusual liking to us.
  • Mercy is God not punishing us as we deserve.

Wait upon the Lord...

At first I thought about "wait" as a postition of inaction. Like waiting for my friend to catch-up with me.

Then "wait" as guidance to fit into the plan He was bringing about.

Now I see "wait" as "pay attention" and do only the thing I want you to do to bring about My plan.
